How your dream can shape your life.

In 1998, I had a dream of running a laundry business, I always had the thought in my mind but I had no idea how to fulfil my dream. I told my friends about my idea but was mocked for wanting to leave my safe job for my dream. This however, didn’t stop me as my dream was so strong. I was invincible. My dream

In this world if your dream is something which you want to pursue and strongly believe in it, then never let anyone discourage you. Put your dreams across and go for it. People give up easily in life when they meet with temporary defects. New discoveries come with ideas and burning desires to want to do something new. I was dreaming of my laundry business without having money and not knowing where to start. My ideas started to develop. What did I do? 1) I began to plan how much the project would cost in total. 2) I needed a shop. 3) I needed machines. I then did some research by going to other laundrettes and asking them questions on how they work and where I could get the machinery from. I started believing that I already had the shop then continued thinking about where I would get the money to fund my dreams. I began to save money, not buying unnecessary items and watching my outgoings.

After two years, I had already decided to take my dream forward and onto the next level. I made a list of the companies that dealt with laundry machines. I travelled to an office in Dunstable in Luton and approached the Sales manager of electronics. He told me what they required before credit will be given to me and that I was assured of credit if I get the shop. I started my next level of getting a shop and signed a lease, came back to them and was told by a different manager that I would have to pay £10000 before they will assist me with credit. This means that if I default in with my payment, I am going to lose my money. I had to resort to plan b whereby I bought a few machines and found a company that would install them for me. I would have to pay them a deposit and pay the remaining amount on instalment bases. This is how my company came into existence.

If you have an idea, burning desire and faith to make your dream come true then nothing will stop you. Think about the Wright brothers whose dream was to invent a machine which could fly through the air. Their dream was realised.

Goal setting is the first stage of winning

Every year, you make a new year’s resolution as to what to change and what not to change. This year 2012 you made another new years resolution, but are you still keeping to it or have you abandoned it and gone back to your old ways. Why do we abandon our new changes and go back to our old ways? You are why you are not strong enough to kick the old habits goodbye.
It is a difficult decision to make change to your habit of a life time to a new one. If you want to achieve success in life and make change to your life, you must have set goals. Having a goal will not only solve your problems, you also need to focus on your goals. Have you got clean goals in your life? Goal setting is important for everything you do in your life.
Do you want a mansion and to live the life of your dreams on a lovely beach hill. Do your think all those things and make a movie in your mind?

You need to have a clear vision of what you want and take specific actions towards your goals. Many people enter adventures and stumble on the way because they do not have a purpose. You must always think on paper, write your goals down and always work daily towards your goals. What are all the goals you have? Is it strong enough to strengthen your desire for the goals?
What are your goals?
  1. buy a new house
  2. supporting a charity of your wish
  3. making children have a good education
A goal that will make you jump out of bed is not making extra money but your wants must be compelling.

It is easy to write down your goals but you must always take action to accomplish them. You must have smart goals, must be measurable, specific, realistic and tangible.
What do you want to achieve and by when? Make your goals real, feel them and see yourself already having achieved them. Making extra money is not a real goal. This will not make you get out of bed and is not achievable. You have to specify your goals for instance, you want to write 90 articles in 90 days. You will need to develop a plan to achieve this which means that you would have to write one everyday. The year works in quarters, if you keep on this track you will be able to achieve your goals. Having this plan in your business will help you.

  • Have commitment to taking consistent action.
  • Helps you to have a solid foundation for months and years to come.
  • Building momentum in the business is what you need to get you through.
  • Take action everyday and you will be above your competitors.
Move forward from where you are now, don’t leave it to luck.

Taking precautions when using specific fabrics such as wool

Laundry service involves more than picking up your dirty clothes, washing them and then returning them to your clients. There are a lot of complications involved. This is why it is very important to safe guard yourself by having the necessary insurance cover required in case there is an accident. Some of the fabrics to be laundered are very complicated too. Therefore, they should be handled with care by a service provider.

Wool being in that category- wool is in the animal family. It is an animal fibre from skin cells follicles. Wool is mainly taken from sheep however, animals like goats also provide wool when you can’t get wool.

Sheep provide most of the wool use in the fabric industry. This wool is used is used to make clothes like jackets, socks, rugs and blankets. Marina sheep were discovered in Spain a long time ago and were introduced to Australia, who is the largest producers of wool at the present time. There are other producers such as South Africa, New Zealand, Britain and United States.

How to know if a fabric is wool using the burnt test? Materials needed to perform a burnt test are:
  1. Bucket of water
  2. Metal container (not plastic)
  3. Tweezers
  4. Matches or a lighter
  5. Piece of material your using (fabric)

Firstly, to perform a burnt test you must make sure you understand what you are doing. This is the process that professional designers and dress makers use to determine what the fabric is made of.

When you pinch the piece of material with tweezers and light it with the matches or lighter provided, in order to determine that it is pure wool the piece of fabric should shrivel back but will not melt. It will also flame up slightly whilst still in the flame. The piece will self extinguish when removed from the flame and smell like burnt hair. Black residue ash will pulverize easily and when dipped into water, the piece of material will not float.

Why people feel dissatisfied with carpet cleaning

Carpet cleaning is one of the businesses that can be started without much qualification or money to invest in therefore, this attracts many amateurs who are not ready. They don’t understand that a lot is needed which results in them giving a shabby and poor job. This is starting to give the industry a poor name.

A lot of education is needed in the carpet cleaning industry in order to do a good job cleaning carpets. You need to understand the construction of the carpet, the condition and you need to be able to understand the fibre of the carpet. You need to be able to remove stains in movement with the dye bleed.

  1. As carpet cleaner are not properly trained, they are unable to use the equipment provided properly.
  2. New entrants to the trade buy cheap and old equipment. This means they do inappropriate jobs giving the trade a bad name.
  3. Some carpet cleaners buy inferior chemicals to clean the carpets. This results in doing a poor job and ruining the carpet eventually.
  4. The rule of carpet cleaning is to first vacuum the carpet. Some carpet cleaners do not vacuum before cleaning and this ends up with the carpet having dull fibres.
  5. Carpet cleaners end up with poor results because the carpet is heavily soiled and a proper system of cleaning was not used.

In order for you to do a good job you must understand the soiling of a carpet and know the appropriate system to use.

How to provide customers with excellent laundry services.

Launderette customer service has improved now that more services are being provided. A few years ago, the majority of launderettes were unman or unattended leading to more costs being incurred by damages caused to washing machines, dryers and other important apparatus inside the laundry.

Modern laundrettes have increased its services and have made it a fun experience. They have some activities that you may not have thought of. Some laundrette services collect and deliver your washing from your home, office, shop or hair saloon.

London laundry services undertake other services such as ironing, dry cleaning, carpet cleaning, repairs and alterations. Customer service has become inevitable in order for us to satisfy our customers and thereby increase repeat purchases. Customers are to be listened to and their complaints should be taken into consideration. Be good at listening to their worries and then make decisions accordingly. Some of your customers will be able to say anything to you. I suggest a customer’s complaint box where, they can channel their suggestions. This will allow your company to make amendments if needed.

Help your customers when they are struggling even though, they may not even ask you. Many times, I see customers coming through the shop door with bags full of washing and they are struggling with their children at the same time. I will open the door for them. You will see them smile and say thank you. Now that you have given this customer excellent customer service, they will recommend you to their friends because of what you have done. I also see customers struggling with operating the washing machines in the laundrette, I ask them if they need help and more times they say yes with a smile on their face. To make things easier for you customers, I will advise you to make a poster on how to operate the machines including the things to do and not to do. Also, if a machine is not working make a note on the machine that it is out of use. It is a good idea to provide your customers with magazines and newspapers or even television as this will keep them occupied. I have been to many shops which allow their phone to ring continuously but no one will answer it. Answer your phone as it could be the best job of the day. Some companies provide children play areas as it keeps children happy and engaged, so they don’t keep running around the laundrette.

If you cannot keep a promise do not make that promise as it will effect the reputation of the company. For instance, if you have told your client that you will pick or drop their washing at a certain time then you must ensure that you meet this promise.

Measurements taken for vacuuming and steam cleaning the stairway

Cleaning the carpeting in your home is very important if you want to keep it longer and sensing clean at all periods. Most periods, we ignore this cost resource and let it go. The most ignored part of the home is the stairway. It is ignored as it is very difficult to bring the hefty cleaning solutions and business devices up and down the stairs. There is a lot of choice in selecting cleaning solutions and business devices in the market now. This makes our performance simpler and decreases our problems. We have to create better and advised choices in buying a better one.
Material required for the job- A excellent device with all the necessary accessories, a sweep, a steam cleaner, a pail and a washing fluid.
Use the difficult sweep to sweep down the step from top to base and create sure the sides are taken care of. Never put your hand on the sides because there are usually blades and hooks. The sweep will eliminate the dust and hair included on the carpeting.
The stairs get neglected because people feel cautious to clean them. This may be as when washing the stairs, they have to extend down and bring it with them. For this reason, it is best to have a lighter device with a long connection. Always start upper level and perform yourself downwards. When you complete cleaning, the next step would be to steam clean. Before business, it is recommended to analyze the carpeting for color change and dye bleed. Make sure that you use a appropriate substance cleanser to be able to get the right outcome. When cleaning, do not over wet the carpeting and use the appropriate heat range to be able to be able to eliminate dirt and bring the carpeting into a excellent.

Little things you need to know about your vacuum cleaner

Carpet vacuuming is the one chore people find most difficult to do. They leave it to last minute until they decide that they no longer want to be slouching around in dust and dirt. When they do decide to hoover the house, they may not actually have a hoover at hand. One thing that may encourage them into vacuuming would be an occasion like Christmas. They maybe expecting those important visitors and immediately rush for the hoover to discover that it is damaged or not working properly. This may push them to buying another hoover. Buying a new hoover can lead to making buying decisions.

Budget- When making a buying decision, we consider the amount of money we have and go for cheaply priced products not thinking about the quality of the product in the market. There are many good quality cheaply priced products on the market although we should never compromise quality with price. A good idea is to choose a vacuum with extra nozzles to let you clean the unreachable parts of the carpet to let you have a great cleaning experience.

Consider your needs- Never invest in what you don’t need. For over-priced and bulky vacuum cleaners, you should consider whether you have storage facilities. For example, if you have a small carpeted flat you may want to consider a good cylinder vacuum cleaner which will be easy to use and have access to awkward areas.

Tips on maintaining your vacuum cleaner- vacuum cleaners need good maintenance. We like to have good things and like having them run smoothly. Sometimes, we do not take care of it properly. There are some simple things we need to do for our vacuum cleaners to last long. Always unplug your vacuum cleaner and wind up. Try to clean the brushes when they get dirty and replace them after sometime. Change your vacuum bag regularly when you can see that it is half full. Don’t allow it to get full because this reduces the work bust. Ensure that the metals are not bent and replace them when they have worn out. Make sure the hoses that are attached are not obstructed as this restricts air flow.

Now that you have purchased your vacuum cleaner and it is ready to go, remember that there are certain places that need vacuuming. These places are often neglected for example, under the chairs, tables, computers and stereos. Hoover the corners and edges as these areas as not usually clean. Make sure you hoover the traffic zone such as stairs and hallways etc… these areas need proper vacuuming because dirt is embedded inside the carpet.

Now that you have finished vacuuming the house, you will feel joy, ready to enjoy your Christmas.

Persistence and focus in children

Have you ever thought about your past as a child and realised how awesome you were, what a remarkable vision, your focus and persistence. What a time of life to remember. At this time of life we are so unique and practically God like. The time we do things, adults think it is immature. What a time, we as an adult now dread to be.

When you are a child, you are to be seen not heard. We imagine you are a child that has no developed not realising that a child has developed inside the womb of a mother. For instance, a child knows the fathers voice from inside of the mothers womb, ever thought at the time of birth the eyes might seem to be closed but still makes a movement when the father speaks.

Four days ago, I realised how persistent individual children can be. As children, we do what we are not allowed to do and when we grow into an adult, we stop doing those things. Why do we stop doing those things? We have been influenced by certain things around us which have moulded our way of behaviour and the things we do in life, we have been taught by our parents, our peers, environment, television, radio etc… This has changed our God like behaviour that restricts us from doing what we think. The persistence and focus in us has gone as an adult. Let’s remind us how persistent and focused a child can be. Last week a mother came in the laundrette with her two children. What happened is that they reminded me of my childhood behaviour which I find remarkable. I can tell you a little story about that. When I was little, we use to have a little radio in our home in the late fifties, which I loved so much when the radio would play.  I use to think that there was a human head inside of it. I wanted to open it to see the head but every time my mother or father would remove me from the radio telling me to sit down. I would sit down for a few seconds then once again, go back to the same radio and I would get smacked after doing it a few times but, that never stopped me from doing it which reminded me that the children that come into the laundrette have the same characteristics as I did when I was a child. The children went into action as soon as they came into the laundrette. They were playing with the laundry machines, touching and watching the clothes go round and round. Although they were restricted from touching it, they still continued. What this article is trying to show, is that when we grow into adults, we lose that sense of focus and resistance that was in us as a child. No matter what type of business you do, you have to discover the child in you that will make you focus and persistent.

No matter the situation you are in your business, don’t give up. Looking at how this economy is at this day and age, it is the time to persist and stay focused.

Laundry services

In terms of doing your laundry, there are a variety of excellent companies that can provide a good service. These companies are all in competition with each other in qualities and value. People now hold different live styles and with the emancipation of women having to go to work and come back late in the night, doing laundry would be the last thing on ones mind. Even though you may like doing laundry yourself, being exhausted and tired you will find it a daunting task resulting in a not so good outcome. Dirty laundry littered around the house will make the house untidy and may possibly develop a fowl smell. Wearing dirty clothes is not an option. Two options are available to you. These include, employing in-house staff to complete laundry as well as other core house activities such as, cleaning and ironing. Another option is to employ a laundry company who will pick and drop your laundry. They will also be able to iron and dry-clean returning your laundry at a specific date and time that is convenient to you. When you need the best laundry and ironing companies there are plenty available when searched for from which can be beneficial to you. You should always select those companies which are trusted, dependable and which you have heard through referrals. A few things that need to be taken into consideration are whether the companies are fully insured as well as how long they have been in business. You need to ensure that their staffs are vetted and you would want know the distance between your house and the company.

Choosing the right company will ease your problems of thinking what to wear and will bring a professional touch making you confident and radiant.
